These new polaroid transfers are tinged with sadness...
my last box of 669...and as always I had to roll with the punches. It's been a long time since I had used the Daylab and I had lost my touch un peu. The rollers were a bit cruddy and so the first polaroid got stuck. Which meant I had to take out the pack to clean the rollers, which meant I had to risk losing one or two polaroids to light exposure, which meant despite a concentrated effort at being zen I spent a lot of time cursing myself! In the end there were 4 wasted as I put in the rollers backwards...doh! The last 6 worked and I am happy with the results....and I will be watching ebay to get my hands on perhaps just one more box.
These will be available exclusively at
Mysteria Gallery in Regina, Saskatchewan.
I have been trying the new
Impossible film for image transfers but I didn't take to it like the old polaroids. And I just don't like the way it holds to the paper either. I haven't scanned my trials yet but I will put them up soon, it works nothing like Polaroid 669 or 690 with emulsion transfers. It is much more delicate and difficult to separate from the emulsion. In any case, I am not very good at it.
