About

Born and raised in Ogema, Saskatchewan, I fell head over heels for photography after my point and shoot fell in the ocean in Thailand.  I bought my first professional camera in Japan, where I was an ESL teacher, and I haven’t looked back.  I moved back to Saskatchewan from Slovenia for SIAST’s Applied Photography Program in 2003.  Since then I have practiced and taught photography in Canada and I earned a second degree in Paris in 2009.  During my years in  Paris I was a contributing editor at www.lensculture.com and was published by Editions de la Martinière in Une Saison Au Japon and Les Roses.  My work has been published and exhibited internationally and can be found in collections in North America, Europe and Asia.  More than anything, I love using photographic processes that contain an element of chance and reveal the maker’s hand.  My favourite techniques allow collaboration with materials and have unpredictable results, creating unique photographic objects:  Polaroid, liquid emulsion, and historic black and white processes. Since 2010 I have been living in Montréal, where I am photographer for the fine art auction house Galerie Heffel.
